The Oatmeal of Alford

Oatmeal pastry

Ingredients

3 ozs. S.R. flour.
3 ozs. fine oatmeal.
2 ozs. butter.
1 oz. margarine.
½ oz. caster sugar.
Cold water to mix.

Method

Sift the flour into a bowl and stir in the oatmeal.
Rub in the margarine and butter till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the sugar.
Add enough cold water to make a fairly stiff dough.
Leave to rest for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a floured board.
