The Oatmeal of Alford

Crunchy apple dessert

Ingredients

1½ lbs.cooking apples, peeled and sliced thinly.
3 ozs. medium oatmeal.
2 ozs. white sugar.
2 ozs. flour.
2 ozs. brown sugar.
3 ozs. butter.
1 teaspoon cinnamon.

Method

Mix white sugar with cinnamon.
Layer apples and sugar in a casserole and spoon water over.
Mix flour and oatmeal.
Rub in butter and stir in brown sugar.
Sprinkle over fruit and bake at 190C for 50 minutes.
