The Oatmeal of Alford

Porridge

Ingredients

½ pint (300ml) water.
1½ ozs (40g) fine or medium oatmeal.
Pinch of salt to taste.

Method

Add salt to water and bring to boil.
Sprinkle in oatmeal, stirring all the time.
Simmer for 5 minutes, until oatmeal is fully swollen.
Serve hot with milk or cream.
Serves 1.
