The Oatmeal of Alford

Beef Olives

Ingredients

5 thin slices of topside steak.

Stuffing.

4ozs. medium oatmeal.
1 small onion, chopped.
1 oz. margarine.
1 slice bread (breadcrumbs).
1 teaspoon chopped parsley.
salt and pepper.

Method

Combine all ingredients for stuffing.
Spread on steak, roll up and secure with fine string.
Brown in a heavy bottomed pan.
Cover with water or stock.
Add vegetables and stew for 1½ hours.
Remove string and serve with thickened gravy.
Serves 5.
