The Oatmeal of Alford

Cod Casserole with Oatmeal Balls

Ingredients

1 lb. cod.
1 breakfast cup milk.
1 teacup water.
1 dessertspoon butter.

Oatmeal balls

1 teacup oatmeal.
Small piece onion.
1½ ozs. margarine.
Chopped parsley.
Salt and pepper.

Method

Skin the fish and put into a deep casserole, sprinkle with a little flour.
Add a little water to the milk and pour around.
Dot butter on top of cod.
Mix oatmeal, margarine, onion, parsley and seasoning with a little water to form balls.
Drop balls around the fish and bake for ½ hour in a hot oven, basting the fish occasionally.
