Ingredients
1 lb. potatoes.1 small cabbage.
1½ ozs. margarine or vegetable oil.
2 pints stock or water.
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley.
4 ozs. oatmeal.
2 ozs. grated cheese.
Seasoning.
Method
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick rounds.Cut the cabbage into small pieces.
Melt the margarine in a saucepan, and when hot add the potatoes and cabbage, frying them (without browning) for 10 - 15 minutes.
Add the stock seasoning and parsley, and allow to cook slowly for about 30 minutes.
Add the oatmeal and stew until tender.
Serve very hot, piled on a plate with grated cheese sprinkled on top.
