The Oatmeal of Alford

Mince Collops

Ingredients

½ lb. mince.
2 ozs. oatmeal.
1 onion chopped.
¼ pint water.
Seasoning.
Mashed potato for serving.

Method

Gently fry the mince and chopped onion together for 5 minutes.
Add the water and oatmeal and simmer for about ½ hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Season well.
Serve inside a border of mashed potato, piped if possible, and browned under the grill.
